Tongue as Indicator

INFORMATION EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW
Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue

STROKE: Remember the 1st Three Letters....S.T.R.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.
T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)
(i.e. It is sunny out today.)
R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

Feeding the Homeless at the PATH Complex in Hollywood

On Saturday, November 21st, the LA Cedars Rotary, in collaboration with the House of Lebanon
Young Professionals, NAAP, LCN, and the upcoming Rotoracters, had an extraordinary time in
feeding the homeless at the PATH complex in Hollywood.

The LA Cedars Rotary supplied the delicious food while the rest of the group helped
serve and mingle with the PATH residents. Everyone had an amazing and fulfilling
time.  And thanks to our creative LA Cedars President, Debbie Wehbe, we had the
PATH residents engrossed in a fun raffle.  A huge "Thank You" to those who helped
make this event a special and memorable one!  Great job everyone. We look forward
to doing it again next year.

A Night of  Forces

For the first time, the Network of Arab American Professionals-Los Angeles, the Cedars
Rotaract, and the Lebanese Collegiate Network joined forces to host a mixer at one of
Hollywood’s most upscale Lounges the Green Door.  Members from the respective
organizations had the opportunity to network and meet other professionals in the Los
Angeles area. The event was a success with over 150 people in attendance. In addition, this event will air on Dandana TV’s the “Arab American Beat.” Dandana TV is one of America's top Middle-Eastern Channel.
